Founded by Professional Engineer, Armando Ramos in 2008, Ramos CS has risen quickly as an important pillar in the transit and transportation industry. We specialize in providing comprehensive engineering, program, and construction management on complex community facing projects that help to mobilize states, cities, and communities across California.

Our philosophy stems from the idea that planning, design, and construction are inseparable and applying a thorough understanding of each is critical to the success of any project.

Ramos CS has been a part of many transformative projects over the past 15 years and will continue to provide quality solutions on complex projects, with an emphasis on mobility-related projects that involve active transportation, bus transit, local rail transit, rapid transit, transit systems, and transportation.

Armando Ramos, PE is the founder of Ramos CS and leads as our CEO and President of the company. Before starting his own company, Mr. Ramos held various management positions at a major corporation and participated in several Leadership Councils that allowed him to gain a global perspective on how large engineering and construction companies are managed worldwide. He was instrumental in the growth of various market sectors throughout the United States by developing solutions for construction programs ranging from $100 million to over $1 billion in size. Mr. Ramos has more than 29 years of experience working on large-scale transit and transportation systems, international airport expansions, and federal and municipal facilities. He has helped modernize engineering and management workflow processes through technology and has written various white papers.

Mr. Ramos started his career as a Structural Engineer and soon became a licensed Professional Engineer in California. He has both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, along with a Professional MBA from Pepperdine University. Mr. Ramos has received various industry recognitions, including Engineering-News-Record (“ENR”) in 2012 as “ENR California’s Top 20”.

Ignacio Roman, PE leads as our Vice President of Engineering and Construction Management. He has more than 30 years of proven planning, design, and construction experience for major transportation and rail transit projects. He has been the Resident Engineer and Construction Manager for various transportation projects, including Metro’s Westside Purple Line Extension Section, Location 64 Maintenance of Way/Non-Revenue Vehicle facility and Division 20 Parts Storage Expansion Project, various Advance Utility Relocation Projects, Exposition LRT Extension Phase 2, Red Line Segment 3, Mid-City Expo Line, NCTD’s Sprinter Rail Project, SCVTA’s Tasman LRT Extension, SCVTA’s Capitol LRT Extension, ACTA’s Alameda Corridor and BART’s extension to Santa Fe Springs.

Mr. Roman has led major third-party teams on programs valued at more than $1 billion, which have resulted in progressive inter-agency cooperative agreements. He has received numerous accolades from transit agencies for his ability to lead, coordinate and progress projects to successful completion. His role with Ramos CS is to assure the quality of our services on all projects, staff development and training, compliance with agency standards, and establishing a quality level of service. His approach is to develop strong integrated relationships with all project stakeholders.
